2. What we collect and why

We do not collect anything beyond this. No location tracking, no advertising profiles, no third-party cookies.
3. Who has access to your data
We share data only with the service providers we need to run sjow.tv:
- Payment provider (Stripe): processes your payment. They have their own privacy policy.
- Hosting provider (EU-based): stores the data that makes sjow.tv work.
- TMDB API: we send search queries to fetch movie/show information. No personal data is shared.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone else.
4. Where your data is stored
All data is stored within the EU/EEA. We do not transfer personal data outside the EEA unless required by a service provider with appropriate safeguards (e.g., Stripe operates under Standard Contractual Clauses).
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days. We may retain anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., total number of ratings) that cannot identify you.
6. Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
- Delete your account yourself: sign in, go to your profile, and click Delete account. This removes your email, name, ratings, watchlist, watched history, and any linked sign-in providers.
- Disconnect a sign-in provider (e.g. Facebook, Google, Apple): on your profile → Sign-in methods → Unlink. You can also revoke sjow.tv's access from the provider's own settings (e.g. Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites → sjow.tv → Remove). Disconnecting a provider does not delete your sjow.tv account; use Delete account for that.
- Need help? Contact us and we will delete your data on your behalf.
7. Your rights
In addition to deletion (section 6), you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of your data
- Correct: fix inaccurate information
- Export: receive your data in a portable format
- Object: object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Complain: file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.no

8. Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies (session, authentication). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. If we use analytics, we use a cookie-free solution that does not track individual users.
9. Children
sjow.tv is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email at least 30 days in advance. See also our Terms of Service.
